2012 Volkswagen New Midsize Sedan
Volkswagen introduces the replacement for the Passat. Volkswagen is planning to come up with the replacement of Passat with the 2011 Jetta, which is comparatively larger and remarkably cheaper than its previous version. Toyota Prius “Family”
Figuratively speaking, the Toyota Prius now comes in three distinct shades of green. The last year didn’t went good for Toyota as there were plenty of recalls and the Prius scandal greatly affect the reputation of the Big T and its products. However, the company by keeping their morals high is bringing three new Prius versions in the Detroit show. The three models include a plug-in hybrid version which will be expected to achieve triple digit mileage, and a people mover having 50 percent more cargo capacity than the present version of Prius. Porsche “Spectacular” Concept
Porsche proudly promises something that should be at least pretty good if it lives up to half its own hype. Porsche is coming to Detroit show after three years because the company left the Detroit show to concentrate on their work for the Los Angeles’s sizzling, shinier car expo. Stuttgart has not revealed what they are bringing to Detroit. He only said with distinctive German splendor that it will be ‘Spectacular’. We can only assume that the spectacular will be a production version 918 Spyder plug-in hybrid, or possibly an entry level, Volkswagen-derived, four cylinder sports car. Mini Paceman Concept
Mini shows a two-door version of the Countryman SUV. Mini is known to produce cars suitable for every budget. Mini is bringing their Paceman Concept to the Detroit Auto Show. Paceman concept is a two-door version of the Countryman SUV, a sports vehicle with all wheel drive, having a 211HP turbo four cylinder engine taken from Mini’s John Cooper Works lineup. According to the reports, the Paceman concept takes some of the features from Countryman such as wheelbase, length, weight etc. Mini has not yet declared any details about the production of this Paceman concept. Mercedes-Benz SLS E-Cell Prototype
A greener alternative to the luxury sports car. Mercedes-Benz revealed this E-Cell in the summer of 2010 but the aim behind bringing this new car to Detroit shows the company’s attitude towards electric speed. Literally, the E-Cell is a battery-powered version of the company’s SLS supercar which is powered by four electric motors to generate 526HP and a torque of 649 lb-ft. Reports reveals that E-Cell sprints from 0-60mph in just 4 seconds. It is a bit expensive car with an estimated price tag of $220,000 and will go on sale somewhere in 2013. Price: $220,000 (est.) 2012 Hyundai Veloster
The replacement for the Hyundai Tiburon sports coupe. During the past two years, we have seen a number of modern and aggressive models by Hyundai. Somewhere around 2008, Hyundai Tiburon – a small, efficient sports coupe was cancelled. We are now going to have a replacement version of Tiburon from Hyundai. Hyundai has not yet announced any official name for their new four-seater vehicle, pretty much similar to Veloster concept. The new model will be powered by 1.6L, 140HP, direct-injected four cylinder engine. This new model from Hyundai will be expected to make debut by fall 2011 and its price ranges somewhere around $18,000. Price: $18,000 (est.) On Sale: Fall 2011
2012 Honda Civic Concept
Honda hints at what the new Civic will look like. Honda seems to be very cautious about its new vehicle which it is bringing to Detroit. We haven’t got many details about what Honda is bringing. However, it is expected that the Honda is coming with a concept version of civic. The only information about this vehicle we have is that it style will based on the CR-Z hybrid.
