Audi is working on the strategy of simplifying the powertrain lineup and discarding V-6 and V-8 engine in Q7 and supercharging the 3.0T V-6, in 272hp and 333 hp strengths. This would improve the performance. The new eight speed automatic transmission gear ratios will boosts the thrust. The high end 3.0T is good enough to replace the 4.2 Ltr V8.
Audi has a Singleframe Grille with surplus headlights from Xenon and one can make out that it’s a powerful car. Additionally Xenon plus headlights with related light and powerful LED driving lights makes the Audi more dramatic. In the rear the LED taillights are equally vibrant. They are stylish and their illumination really puts the safety guard to a distance. The proper tail gate is designed to load and unload the cargo.
Ventilated seats with a bird’s view sunroof are standard. The customer has a variety of leather interiors to choose from and the chrome trim is engraved in many of the control elements throughout. It also comes with power tilt/telescoping steering and an adaptive cruise control as an option.
With 3.0T 272 hp is apt for all kinds of traffic and speed though it might seem to be a bit slower in the initial stage but the pick up is faster and aggressive. They are supposedly fuel efficient but the figures are yet to be determined but the projection is about five percent gain.
The differential price is still not known for V8 and V6, however the current cost stands at $61,825 and $41,000 respectively. The TDI is somewhere in the mid way at $51,725.
The diesel one gets the eight speed automatic transmission and the Emissions regulations mean diesel exhaust fluid popularly known as AdBlue to all Audi customers is needed periodically.
Rest standard features remains same for Audi Q7 like the dynamic driving, luxurious interiors and the recent feature added called MMI System which is now coming with 3D navigation along with joystick controller to move through on all menus and functions. This upgraded infotainment also comes with Voice command facility in the MMI package and understands simple commands like “I need Gas”.
Audi is strategizing on reducing its operating cost on manufacturing by downgrading the engine without making much of an impact to its customers on the overall performance of the engine. This helps to simplify the assembly line complications in future in its manufacturing unit as well. This might become market trend in future for others to follow.
Audi is getting into level of environmental conscientiousness with 3.0 TDI clean diesel engine. With the help of the combining direct injection and turbo charging the 3.0 ltr diesel delivers 225hp and amazing 406 lb-ft of torque. Also its fuel efficiency is truly incomparable with 17 mpg and 25 mpg for city and highway respectively.
