The Mitsubishi outlander relates distantly to the Dodge Journey this is an outlander that either carries five or seven – passengers and it was upgraded in the year 2010, though it is among the oldest vehicle and one of the Mitsubishi best efforts. The current form exhibits a new front end ad a refreshed interior with the addition of a GT model and new technological features.
The current upgraded design best suits the outlander crossover body. Its shark – like snout is the same as that of the Mitsubishi Evolution while the inside part resembles the other crossovers. It has become even more handsome with the decoration of the soft touch materials on the armrest and dash. At the center o the dash, an LCD screen is well fitted representing the technology at hand.
The buyers are normally provided with a wider choice of engines to buy. The V- 6 engine is not much expensive especially when changing its ample power. The outlander XLS and GT model engines are offered with a 3.0 – liter V- 6 that generates 230 horsepower through an active and responsive easy shifting six sped automatic with paddle controller fixed closer to the steering. The standard engine suitable to the ES and SE are the base four-cylinder. However powering this crossover is not sufficient due to the inactive nature of the CVT thus produces much noise.
The SE model is optional in that it can accommodate either the front wheel drive or the four wheel drive with a locking center Differential while the GT can adopt both wheel drives of the Ralliart and Evolution models. It has a knob control choice of the lock traction modes, the snow and the Tamc. Te Front Differential is more active and the center Diff controlled electronically with seamless placement of the torque between the wheels.
Te outlander responsive steering is very good. The steering is the outlander’s hallmark while the ride and braking are firmed in a nice way. The seating area is curved outwards thus allows a large space for adults on the first two rows but the third row cannot even hold a child. The seats are very flexible as in you can slide the second row on tracks to increase the legroom or when loading, the seats are also adjustable. Its rear sides are spacious thus it can supply as much as 73 cubic feet of a free room with a fold-down tailgate of its kind that supports up to 400 pounds.
At first it was rated as the best by the IIHS having been give the five – star rate, but after changing the rating system from last year, we cannot tell its current rate. A new outlander comes with side curtains anti-lock brakes, the side curtains and airbags and electronic stability control.
The 2010 outlander ES model has a four -cylinder, keyless entry, automatic climate control, air conditioning, link system and the new FUSE hands mainly found in the luxurious XLS. The GT has heated mirror, bi-xern etc.
