In 1911, when William Durant founded the company, it was with the association of Louis Chevrolet. The company was named Chevrolet motor company and produced Chevrolet classic six which was a huge success. By 1915, the partnership broke off because of the fact that William wanted to deign cars that are less priced and commonplace so everyday individual could purchase them easily. He bought off the company from Louis Chevrolet and started off working hard for his own identity. It used to be fruitful when he bought major shares of General Motors in 1917.
