2011 Honda Odyssey

By Zaheer on Jul 30, 2011 with Comments 0

Of course Honda has always wanted to be known as one of the best manufacturers of today that is the top seller for the American created minivan though today it can be seen to be in a massive fight with the Toyota and the Chrysler and the Sienna models.

The new Honda Odyssey 2011 model has now got a very new design to it and since this eight passenger Odyssey is a front drive minivan it will now have a low roofline to contend with along with the wider track.  It now has a great new and updated style along with a lightening bolt style with a new sheet metal which all this together does not always make a great style.

There are now five different trims to the car including the Touring and Touring Elite, the EX and EX-L and the LX.  With the two EX trims, they will have a navigation feature built in and they are now going to also come with the back seat entertainment centre which looks very much like a massive wide screen TV.

If there are any upgrades to the Honda then it will be in the shape of the V-6 3.5 liter engine which offers a better fuel economy.  While the Touring model of the Honda will come with the six speed automatic transmission for greater effect though there was a few rumors that this transmission would be soon replicate the Toyota four cylinder Sienna motor though that has not been announced as yet.

The car has all the hallmarks and style of a minivan that runs on a good and stable V-6 3.5 liter engine; that comes along with either the five speed automatic transmission or the six speed automatic transmission.  With the new models including the Touring Elite, the Touring, the LX, EX and lastly the EX-L model also.

There are some newer features to the car however, there is now the roofline which is a good one point six inches lower than what some of the older models of the Honda were and the track is wider by one point four inches.

The great V-6 3.5 liter i-VTEC engine will now work perfectly with the six speed transmission with the Touring trim.  That means the Odyssey will be a stern competitor for the many rivals out there.

With this new transmission under the hood, it will come along with the Honda variable cylinder management system which helps to reduce the amount of fuel used but not actually making the car perform any less.  The numbers over the fuel economy is good bringing it right up to first class in fact.  There is even a new model, the Touring Elite which will now make its debut to the world.

This new Odyssey is going to be a lot wider but lower though it will be a lot more angular than usual.  There is now a lightening effect bolt belt line which helps to bring in the large side windows for the third row of seating.  The headlights up front are pretty much the same though they are smaller with a new corporate grille.

With this Honda Odyssey it will have the basic but still very classy fashion for the interior and even the storage spaces will also have a nice and very classy sort of look to car.  The space of the car is pretty impressive however, with roomy spaces; it is certainly got plenty of space.

The premium versions have even a powered tailgate along with a chill chest and a captain’s chair; if that was not enough then there is the entertainment system in the back for the back seat passengers.  It is now the ultra wide video centre that they will now have to watch on long car journeys.

With this ever great V-6 3.5 liter engine, it will make the engine run smoothly and sound perfect; this V-6 can actually just be contended with using only three cylinders to help conserve fuel which is great of course.  This will work perfectly with the six speed transmission which also helps to increase the efficiency of the fuel being used as well as the acceleration being a lot smoother also.

The track for this Honda Odyssey will now be one point four inches wider than some of the older versions were though this can really help when it comes to turning corners however.  With the Touring Elite model, the wheels are now eighteen inches and the vented front brakes are now twelve point six inches which helps to bring in a much higher performance rate.
With the safety features here, the Odyssey will have the great three point seat belts which are of course standard for the Honda cars but still very good.  This will also come with the stability controls along with the traction control also; the passengers will also have the reliable side curtain airbags but the driver and the front seat passenger will have the dual stage front side and front airbags to contend with.  Honda of course takes their safety standards seriously and make sure that they are some of the best just in case an accident should ever occur.

For the Touring the EPA fuel ratings are nineteen mpg for the city and twenty eight mpg for the highway so it fair numbers.  While the EX-L, the EX and the LX are eighteen mpg for the city roads and twenty seven mpg for the highway roads also.
