2011 BMW M3 is popularly called the high-performance machine. BMW M3 performance car is influenced by the line sporty BMW 3 Series, and perhaps the most pristine in the stock of BMW series. This is a product of BMW’s M division, which works for corporate racing program.
The performance of M3 offers practical features in the package. Using a small displacement V8, M3 engine features high-revving tension that provides exceptional strength for its size.
My friend had the opportunity recently to take test drive with BMW M3 Sedan, it was amazing to hear from him the experience of the new M3. The V8 engine comes with a dual clutch gearbox and therefore its great shift from the traditional manual transmission. So most of the drivers who are moving from the manual transmission will feel a huge difference and the chasis and steering will act as a differentiator.
New BMW M3 is available in coupe and sedan for 2011 with an additional package of lowered height suspension, stability control, electronic programming damping, 19-inch wheels and wider track. Although known as a sports car, but actually does not look like a sports car because it has too many seats with one body and a lot of doors.
While all the other 3 Series cars use six-cylinder engine, V8 M3 has hand-built 4.0-liter high-tech that provides 414 horsepower.
I had a test drive too but unfortunately a small one and in busy traffic area so one can not experience the real potential of the car. However my passing through the corners where I could maneuver the car and here the BMW was really smooth to drive.
BMW M3 can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds, with top speed electronically limited to 155 mph. Based on the nature of road being twisted curves or rough roads you need to just push the M button and go for the customized settings for the chasis, engine, transmission and stability control. I was really amazed with its grip, power, brakes, steering and overall feel of the M3. I also admired the adjustments of the speed with every gear change.
However the gearbox has limitation of parking the vehicle with a neutral and hand break mode, until I switch off the car. Also in order to get maximum throttle I need to push the M button and my concern is with all engineering worked out how come these minor things not taken care of like we would always need maximum throttle anyways so why an additional effort of pressing a button.
Overall I am too impressed with the technology used in M3 and the special exterior with aerodynamic looks, special wheel design and lowered suspension
