Mitsubishi Endeavor 2011 Review

By Zaheer on Jun 08, 2011 with Comments 0

The Mitsubishi Endeavor 2011 has a spacious seating and impressive warranty coverage but has poor fuel efficiency.

The Mitsubishi Endeavor 2011 is a midsize SUV offered in two trim levels; the base LS and the Luxury SE.  The LS is only available in the front wheel drive, whereas the SE model can either be front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The LS comes equipped with standard features that include cloth upholstery, tilt steering wheel, seventeen inch alloy wheels, keyless ignition, Bluetooth connectivity, foglights, cruise control, air conditioning, a 6-speaker CD player sound system and full power accessories.

The SE model upgrades the LS with features such as heated outside mirrors, sunroof, power driver seat, eighteen inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, automatic climate control, audio controls mounted on the steering wheel, cargo cover, rearview camera, a 9-speaker Rockford Acoustics 6-CD changer, satellite radio and a navigation system.

Optional packages for the LS and SE trim levels include side steps rails, remote engine start, iPod adapter and a towing package.

When it comes to performance, the Mitsubishi Endeavors 2011comes equipped with a 225 horsepower V6 3.8-liter engine that generates 255 lb-ft of torque. This is paired to a 4-speed automatic transmission (which is the only transmission option).  Towing capacity for a fully equipped 2011 Endeavor is estimated at 3,500 pounds. FWD is standard on the two trim levels while the SE trim has an AWD option at an extra cost.

According to the EPA, fuel efficiency for the Endeavor 2011 is estimated at 15 miles per gallon in the city, 21 miles per gallon on the highway and combined fuel efficiency of 18 miles per gallon. This poor gas mileage is less compared to most midsize SUVs in its class. Fuel efficiency for the AWD Endeavor is estimated at 15 miles per gallon in the city, 19 miles per gallon on the highway and combined fuel efficiency of 17 miles per gallon.

The Mitsubishi Endeavor 2011 interior is spacious, comfortable and can accommodate five passengers. The cabin is designed from low quality materials (hard plastics). Illuminations from the instruments at night give the cabin a contemporary appearance.

The Endeavor 2011 provides 40.7cubic feet of cargo space with all seats in use. The second row seats can be folded down flat to increase the cargo space to 76.4 cubic feet. The Endeavor 2011 lacks a third row seat which is available among its rivals (Hyundai Veracruz and the Chevrolet Traverse .that also have more cargo space).

Standard safety features in the Mitsubishi Endeavor 2011include; traction control, stability control, front seat side and whole-length side curtain airbags. Government strenuous crash testing for the Mitsubishi Endeavor 2011 has not yet been conducted. Its predecessor, the 2010 Endeavor, was awarded 5 stars and 4 stars for the driver protection and passenger protection respectively.

The average price for the Mitsubishi Endeavor 2011 ranges between $27,422 and 32,451. Mitsubishi gives the 2011 Endeavor a bumper to bumper five year warranty and a basic 10-year warranty.
