The Mazda CX-9 2011 comes with some new changes with models in Sport, Grand Touring and Touring trims. It definitely falls under the new breed of family size cars that have become quite common even though it has not gained a lot of popularity.
It’s fashionable appeal balances the solid driving dynamics and generous cargo and passenger room . With its nature, CX-9 is quite a bargain compared to premium brands such as the Cayenne Porsche or BMW X5.
This year’s CX-9 has that sporty performance yet still serves well as a family car without losing the fun in driving.
Talking about power and acceleration, the Mazda CX-7 2011 features a 273-hp V6, DOHC 3.7-liter engine which is apparently the largest ever that Mazda has produced. The engine which comes in 2WD is rated at 17 mpg for city and 24 highway. which is good for a seven-seater. The engine is coupled to an automatic six-speed transmission giving sufficient power for any situation.
In terms of handling and breaking, the CX-9 for 2011 propels its hefty 4,284-pound weight with ease. For a car with such a structural rigidity many find it easy and fun to drive.
The CX-9 has a car-like exterior which is curvy. This coupled with sleeker lines gives it a more sporty look than most SUV’s. It has wedged shape as a result ofsloping windshield and a tapered roofline.
The Grand Touring version has 20-inch wheels
The interior is just like that of most Mazda products but the level of particularization has been stepped a notch higher. Bluetooth, air conditioning, cruise control, trip computer, remote keyless entry and six air bags are standard features on all trims. There is a rearview camera to assist in parking and optional heated seats.
The navigation system stands separate from climate controls. Some say that the many audio functions complicate some simple adjustments. More to that, its voice control programming and wireless cell phone connection understands commands that are worded correctly and loudly. This can be quite challenging to users with poor communication skills.
For interior storage, this CX-9 has 17.2 cubic feet cargo space when all three rows are in use. However, third row folds fully flat in the 50/50-split folding creating 48.3 cubic feet space. So next time you decide to take a family road trip be sure you will have plenty of space for your luggage.
Although yet to be crash testedt, the CX-9 for 2011 comes with anblind spot alert which is optional. It gives a signal on the outer mirror on both sides when ther is a vehicle approaching along the mirror blind spot. One safety concern some people have is the visibility issue.
The CX-9 has the three-year/36,000-mile warranty (basic) from Mazda. Also the CX-9 has a 5-year/60,000-mile power train warranty, 3-year/36,000-mile warranty for roadside assistance and the five-year/unlimited warranty for mileage rust .
For the Mazda CX-9 2011, the average price ranges between $27,845 and $33,009 making it one of the most affordable medium sized SUV.
