2011 Volvo XC60 Review

Since back in the 1980’s Volvo has usually had that box-like shape that has become one of its distinct characteristics. However, the Volvo XC60 2011 comes with a more streamlined body that gives it a more luxury compact SUV look. With well made interior and turbocharged engine, the 2011 Volvo suits well as a comfortable classy family car.
Even though the XC60 is among the affordable SUVs, in order to enjoy features such as the turbocharged engine and the AWD, you may have to cough up some more money. Also on the downside, most reviewers feel that the fuel efficiency of the turbocharged engine Volvo XC60 is poor and the navigation system is difficult to use.
The Volvo XC60 2011 comes with exceptional features such as the safety function which can detect an imminent crash or collision at a dawdling speed and in the process making the car come to halt without the driver’s participation.
The Volvo XC60 2011 comes with a standard front-wheel and an optional all-wheel drive and is offered in three trim levels: 3.2, T6, and the sporty 3.2 R-design. All these have a 6-speed automatic transmission with a manual shift control.
The 2011 XC60 3.2 and 3.2 R-design, are equipped with a 3.2 liter 6-cylinder engine that generates 240 horsepower. The AWD T6 and the T6 R-design come with a 3-liter turbocharged 6-cylinder engine that produces 300 horsepower.
Fuel efficiency of the 2011 turbocharged XC60 as given by the EPA, is estimated at 18 miles per gallon in the city and 25 miles per gallon on the highway. For the non-turbocharged, fuel efficiency is estimated at 18 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway.
With a grille similar to the XC90, the XC60 has more appealing look compared to the former. With a ground clearance of 9.1 inches, exterior features include 17-inch alloy wheels, optional xenon headlights, optional rearview camera and an optional panoramic sunroof. The 3.2 and T6 R-design have silver roof rail, tinted rear windows, unique tailpipes, scuff plates and a unique grille.
Standard interior features include the dual-zone automatic climate control, power driver seat, CD stereo, remote controlled navigation system, USB/iPod configuration. Optional heated seats and a leather upholstery.
The XC60 2011is designed to accommodate five passengers. Cargo capacity is estimated at 30 cubic feet with all seats being utilized. The rear seats can be split 40/20/40 to provide 67.4 cubic feet of cargo space.
One of the best safety features of is the City Safety system that brings the car to a stop when it detects a possible crash at slow speeds. Typical safety features include antilock disc brakes, electronic stability system, side impact air bags and side curtain air bags. Other optional safety features include a lane departure warning system, blind spot detection system and the high speed crash warning system.
Average price for the 2011 Volvo XC60 ranges between$32,900 and $42,150. Volvo gives the XC60 2011 a four year basic warranty.
