2011 Audi R8 Spyder First Impressions

Even after getting topless Audi R8 still provides same thrilling execution. Talking of the initial imprint it creates, I’ll have to admit that the “Ooh” factor is not that solid. This I am saying not just from an onlooker’s point of view but from the point of view of the journalists who took the ride.
German technology is known for its automobile engineering and Audi R8 Spyder is one great example which proves it yet again.
This car misses not just its top but the prominent side blades as well. As its name suggests it’s a transformable car. The bad thing about it is that its roof doesn’t glide in very smoothly and doesn’t fit in smoothly. That’s a chronic problem with most of the topless cars and convertibles.
Alright I’ve been too rough. R8 Spyder is really an amazing car and its inside hasn’t changed a bit. Its comfort, elegance and world class finish are all incomparable. So apart from losing a bit of prestige on the outside its inside gives you the same out of the world feeling.
The mechanism which controls its roof is just at the push of a button and the moment you press this button the roof glides in seconds. One can keep the side and the back windows lowered if one is not worried about spoiling the hair.
A dreamy power plant
Spyder undoubtedly holds one of the best engines available for the cars, namely a 5.2 liter FSI V10 which creates a roaring 525 HP with 490 lb-ft of torque.
In spite of a great competition from (hello Porsche 911 Turbo S!) the beauty of Spyder’s engine lies in its progressivism which delivers the speed unwaveringly and steadily. The best part is that there is no sudden blowup.
The sound it produces gives a feel of the symphony orchestra. Without the top the feel is that of an open air concert.
The best part is its exact 6-speed transmission which equals with the most hunky-dory Italians.
When on road the Spyder is outstandingly firm. Whole credit for this goes to the engineers who work for Audi, as its they who’ve supervised R8’s morphological rigidness at the same level as that of a coupe, which means the driver’s enjoy the same comfort when dealing with its kinetics. Maneuver may be a bit difficulty for some but it definitely improves safety for the driver’s with lesser experience.
Lastly, Audi 2011 R8 Spyder is well polished and exotic. In fact for a person like me who has limited cash it’s hard to choose between a regular R8 and the R8 Spyder as each of these has its own pros and cons.
