The Volkswagen New Beetle Convertible has managed to retain its look and is yet modern, comfortable and efficient. This small coupe can stand up on its own to any other vehicle. It retains its ancient, respectable look and is yet as popular as it was earlier. It belongs to an exclusive group in the convertibles segment.
What most people like about the Volkswagen New Beetle Convertible is its exterior iconic look, which reminds them of another day. And yet, it is popular. The convertible is very comfortable and has very good front seats. A few minor flaws, if they can be called that, are its 5 cylinder engine, its small fuel economy index, the rather old fashioned interior, the lack of headroom on the backseats and the crash test results which remain mid range.
The Volkswagen New Beetle is really remarkable in terms of style. It is available as a coupe as well as a convertible. The convertible is best suited for two people to cruise along in comfort. No major change on the exterior has been done for a long time and this stands out, as we see vehicles changing their exteriors almost every year. The dashboard is rather long.
The turbo charged turbo diesel or TDI 4 cylinder engine has been replaced by a 2.5 l inline 5 cylinder engine. This engine has yet to perform well and prove its fuel economy. The Volkswagen New Beetle has a manual 5 speed or automatic 6 speed automatic transmission and the performance of the engine is really smooth. EPA fuel ratings are 28 or 29 mpg when you travel the highway and 20 mpg in the city. The coupe is easy to maneuver and performs better than the convertible.
The most exciting thing about the Volkswagen New Beetle is that you are sure to stand out in a crowd.
