2011 Mercedes-Benz M-Class

Clearly, the 2011 Mercedes-Benz M-Class is a carry-over of the 2010 model. Nothing much is changed. Although it is admittedly one of the better-looking vehicles in its class, it is highly possible that its model cycle may soon end. We must remember that it is one of the older entries in the category of midsize luxury SUV.
The price range is from $ 46,490.00 to $ 92,590.00. The wide price range is explained by the differences in features between the six models of the M-Class which includes the ML 350, the ML 350 4matic, the ML 350 Blue TEC 4matic, the ML 450 Hybrid, the ML 550 4matic, and the ML 63. The variety in engines is considered one of its positive points as it provides more choices to buyers. Its closest competitors include the BMW X5, Lexus RX, and the Infiniti FX.
All models are equipped with automatic transmission and the electronically managed 4matic all-wheel drive. The standard equipment of the base ML 350 includes the 3.5L V6 engine, 7-speed automatic with OD transmission, ABS and driveline traction control, rear air-conditioning with separate controls, 1st row regular express open/close sliding and tilting glass sunroof, front and rear fog/driving lights, front air-conditioning-dual zone automatic, driver and passenger heated front seats, voice-activated navigation system, entertainment system with DVD, 19” silver alloy wheels, PARKTRONIC parking assists, and remote keyless entry. The Base ML 350 4matic offers the same features except for the 19” silver aluminum wheels. The base ML 350 Blue TEC 4matic uses the 3.0L V6 engine.
The Hybrid model replaces applicable features with the 8-speed auto with OD transmission and 17” silver alloy wheels. Applicable features are replaced by the 5.5L V8 engine and the 19” silver AMG aluminum wheels for the Base ML 550 4matic. Finally, for the Base ML63, owners are treated to the power of a 6.2L V8 engine plus driver and passenger cooled front seats, entertainment system with DVD and digital media, and the 20” silver AMG alloy wheels.
Non-hybrid models deliver smooth acceleration around town or the highway though climbing low grades appear labored. Ride quality is comfortable with most bumps easily negotiated. Steering is accurate though feels rather heavy when turning. Quietness provided is comparable to luxury cars. The interior is generally roomy with supportive seats plus high-quality finishes that create an elegant feel. Control features are generally upscale but the steering wheel can benefit from having less buttons. Cabin storage is acceptable but not exceptional. The 2011 Mercedes-Benz M-Class is highly recommended regardless of the base and option prices that are on the high range.
