2010 Suzuki Swift +

By Zaheer on May 06, 2011 with Comments 0

Being a creation of a mixed group of Korean, Japanese and American engineers, the 2010 Suzuki Swift + does not present a style that can be described as extraordinarily distinct.  This is not to say that it is ugly.  Far from it, the 2010 Suzuki Swift + is quite presentable and provides a perfectly decent ride without any extra pretenses.
The nameplate Suzuki Swift may produce some confusion as it is being carried by three distinct derivations, one of these is the Swift + which is a Canada-only generation.  It is created by the joint efforts of GM Daewoo and Suzuki and is solely marketed as a five-door hatchback.  The 2010 Suzuki Swift + is a subcompact car powered by a 1.6L L4 DOHC 16-valve engine which provides 106 hp at 6400 rpm and torque of 105 lb-ft at 3800 rpm.  It is equipped with 5-speed manual transmission or an optional 4-speed automatic transmission.

At a base price of $ 14,715.00, it comes with standard features including ABS, air-conditioning, power steering, manual tilt steering, AM/FM radio with CD, driver airbag, passenger airbag, side airbag, anti-theft system, and steel wheels with cover.  The features are actually so standard that it is finding it hard to compete against cars of the same category that are more economical, efficient, interactive, if not cleaner and greener such as the Fiesta, the Mazda 2, Hyundai Accent, Honda Fit, and the Fiat 500.
The good thing about the 2010 Suzuki Swift + is it does not let the fact that it is outclassed by its competitors, stop it from performing quite well within its limitations.  It can bring you where you want to go in comfort, quiet and confidence.  The                     contemporary cabin is well finished and owners can actually expect graceful aging.   One positive point is the heater that works much, much better than expected.
This is probably the reason why the good points gain more appreciation.  When we base our opinion on simply what we see, we don’t set our expectations too high and thus end up loving it more because it delivers on its promise without much fanfare.
The 2010 Suzuki Swift + retains its rounded design with short front and rear overhang. It is still a front-wheel drive while the all-wheel drive system is offered as an option.  A hybrid variant is said to be in the offing anytime from 2011 to 2012.  Its sibling, the Suzuki Swift Sport is expected to be the flagship of the range.   It features red sport seats, 4-wheel disc brakes, twin exhaust pipes plus a stiffer suspension as well as sportier bumpers and spoilers.  A top of the line automatic Suzuki Swift + has a sticker price of $ 17,055.00
