2010 Maserati Quattroporte

By Zaheer on May 27, 2011 with Comments 0

The 2010 Maserati Quattroporte has an instant appeal and most people will like it.  To begin with, it is an unusual kind of car, it has a sports car kind of feel to the interior, it has highly responsive steering and has quality finish.  A few unappealing factors would be its rattling interior, the lack of headroom at the back, the small size of its trunk and the erratic ride that it offers the rider.

The cool design and the sexy appeal that are attributed to the 2010 Maserati Quattroporte make it difficult to believe that it has been around since 5 years.  The car is more refined now and is a head turner at all times.  The front end is rather like that of a shark, the windshield is aggressive and the roof is smoothly sculpted and leads to the most elegant of tails.  The vehicle combines the design of a sports car and an elegant luxury sedan.  This vehicle from Maserati has a rich interior, a lot of wood work and fine little touches of leather piping, which is rather uncommon in German luxury sedans.

The 2010 Maserati Quattroporte is rather unique, it differs from luxury cars like the Mercedes Benz S class.  It tilts more to the 4 door sports car type than the sport cum luxury sedan.  Rough old roads can make the suspension a little out of sorts and the road noise is something to contend with.  The engine from Ferrari is a dry sump V-8 and sits under the hood, making a continuous rumbling noise.  Some may object to this, but most car lovers understand that this is one of the Masterati’s appealing factors.  There is a faint rumble when the car is driven gently and rather urgent sounds can be heard when the vehicle is being accelerated briskly, this turns to a tuned wail when the vehicle attains 7,500 the rpm redline.

The 2010 Maserati Quattroporte offers a 400 hp, 4.2 l V-8 engine, and the Quattroporte S comes with a 425 hp, 4.7 l engine.  The Sport GT S from the same stable is assigned a 434 hp version of the f.7 l mill.  The Duo Select rough gearbox was standard to Quattroportes of earlier models and this was easily among the worst kind of automated manual transmissions available.  The latest models are fitted with the 6 speed ZF automatic transmission, just like the offerings of 2 years ago on the Quattroporte Automatica.
