Sun worshippers get to have one more car choice in the 2010 Infiniti G37 Convertible. We don’t have to argue that its top-down option makes for the whole point of the car but we get to be treated to the joys of driving as well with its commendable engine performance and maneuverability. It also comes with several enhancements which include upgrade navigation and entertainment systems, a revised interior, and power-folding outside mirrors. It is offered at a base price of $ 44,350.00.
Power is provided by a 3.7L V6 with Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL) which produces a maximum output of 325 hp at 7000 rpm and torque of 267 lb-ft at 5200 rpm. Standard features include smart airbags, antilock brakes, traction control, stability control, back-up cameras, roadside assistance, adaptive cruise control, satellite radio, connection for portable MP3 sound system, MP3 co-enabled sound system, media hard disk MP3 sound system, USB connection, multi-zone climate control, heated/cabled seats, keyless start, two-way security plan, 12V power outlet, touchscreen and voice-activated navigation, Bluetooth phone interface, and Home Automation Integration. It is equipped with a 7-speed automatic transmission and 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels.
Like any other car, it is confronted with differing reviews to some of its features. While the folding hardtop provides more sufficient headroom than that offered by a G37 Coupe fitted with a sunroof, it eats up trunk space when its top is down, virtually making storage space non-existent. Comfort is not sacrificed with the top-down especially with the seat heater on and the two front side windows up. Even when all windows are lowered, the acoustic environment remains acceptable. One thing though, the roof goes rather slow in its motions to make sudden rain a concern.
There are some references to how the slightest road imperfections affected the amount of body movement of the 2010 Infiniti G37 Convertible. The same concern was observed around slow corners. Another issue was the clunky sound of the door closing. Infiniti car doors are known to produce a solid thump sound. These concerns are being pointed as probable specific vehicle concerns rather than model-wide concerns.
The three-piece power retractable hardtop looks equally good whether top up or top down. I am guessing that many would appreciate the gauges’ predominantly white color scheme plus the newly introduced exterior color – the Graphite Shadow. The high-gloss Maple interior trim accents complete the irresistible look.
The 2010 Infiniti G37 Convertible Sport 6 MT model has been upgraded to include the high-value Premium Package with no additional cost in price. It comes at a price of $ 46,950.00. Either way, the two G37 models offer one of the best top-down driving experiences especially with its commendable wind manageability. Except for a few shivers here and there, you can literally let your hair down with it.
