2010 Ford Transit Connect

By Zaheer on May 26, 2011 with Comments 0

Online websites play their part in keeping the buyer well informed about cars and their performance.  Car reviews are written with respect to overview, performance, styling, safety, quality, features and then the bottom line.  Cars are tested by real experts who have a feel of the real thing from behind the steering wheel of the vehicle.  Sometimes, the manufacturer of the car provides the vehicle for a hands on road test.

The 2010 Ford Transit Connect is a delivery van which is likely to appeal to most people.  What is liked about this car is the fact that it has a unique cargo proposition.  It’s  gas mileage is much better than that of a full sized van.  It can be considered a customizer’s delight and has proven engine and transmission.  A few points one may not approve of would be that it has a few convenience features missing, it’s acceleration is rather slow and there is no option of a diesel engine.

The 2010 Ford Transit Connect is rather new to the USA, but has been around in Europe since 2003.  These vans were brought to the US by Ford, and now they plan to build the next version here.  This was built as a cargo vehicle from scratch and is available in cargo as well as passenger models.  Five people can be seated in it.  It is a one of it’s kind vehicle, and it’s closest competitors would be the 2010 Chevrolet HHR Panel Van and the 2010 Honda Element.

The Transit Connect is styled on the front end rather like a Ford, with its big headlights and bar grille, it looks like the small van that it is.  The electric window switches are placed at the center on the tunnel and not on the doors, this is typically European.  American versions will soon arrive.  This van can carry small loads and it’s performance is just as satisfactory when the vehicle is loaded.

The 2010 Ford Transit Connect has a 136 hp, w l Duratec engine.  There is a 4 speed automatic transmission which drives the front wheels, this is similar to the power train as in the Ford Focus.  Acceleration is not really quick, but serves the purpose on city roads.  Brakes and mid range acceleration are good.  The brake drums are at the back and the discs are in the front.  They include anti lock protection.  This is a van you can safely buy.
