2010 BMW M3 Coupe

By Zaheer on May 05, 2011 with Comments 0

Looking, sounding and feeling mean in a highly polished manner, the 2010 BMW M3 Coupe stands out and calls attention to itself.  It is in every aspect a serious machine even when faced with its closest competitors including the Lexus IS-F, the Audi RS4, or the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG.  It performs as a capable grand touring car.

At a base price of $ 60,575.00, it comes with standard equipment including the 4.0 liter 32 valve V-8 engine, 6-speed manual transmission, dynamic stability control (ESP), all sedan traction with variable M diff lock, speed-sensitive power assisted steering, M suspension ABS with dynamic brake control, Xenon adaptive headlights with auto leveling, AM/FM stereo CD/MP3 player audio system, HD radio, tire pressure monitoring system, rain-sensing windshield wipers, cruise control, and adaptive brake lights.  Options include the Melbourne Red Paint for $ 550.00; the Cold Weather Package which include the ski bag, heated front seats, and retractable headlight washers for $ 750.00; the Technology Package which includes the M drive, Comfort Access Keyless Entry, and navigation system for $ 3,250.00.  The carbon leather interior trim and iPod and USB adapter can be had for $ 500.00 and $ 400.00, respectively.  The M3 Coupe can come with bright aluminum wheels if one takes the $ 2,500.00 Competition Package although I personally believe that leaving it as it is with standard-issue wheels is just fine.

The front seat section provides a lot of room side to side although it is quite a different matter at the rear seat section.  It is of special note that the 2010 BMW M3 Coupe has not yet been crash-tested by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), although similar tests have been conducted on other 3-series sedan and coupe.  Test rates were given a “good” front and side impact.

The 2010 BMW M3 Coupe is seen by some as expensive when considering its size and limited rear-seat and luggage space.  Tall drivers and passengers may have some problems with the headroom area. Space is also a concern even in the four-door body option.

The awesome power and noise that comes from stepping down on the right pedal can be very addicting.  It is a really fast car that can run as civilly as the others if the driver manages to hold back.  Let us just see how it fares with the entry of more competition in the form of the Cadillac CTS-V Coupe and the Audi RS 5.
