The 2010 Grand Marquis is at the fag end of production and will soon be manufactured no more. This ends more than seventy years down the line of the whole Mercury brand by Ford. This vehicle is a 4 door sedan and is most known for the fleet of cars run by the police force and taxi companies all over the country. This large sedan faces competition from the Hyundai Azera, the Toyota Avalon and the Ford’s very own Taurus sedan. These vehicles offer the same good interior space but with better and more recent styling, fuel economy, features and performance.
The 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis has a mileage of 16 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the Highway. This engine runs on gas or ethanol and is a solid 4.6 l V-8. It has large EPA and has a drive train. It is available in rear wheel drive and can accommodate up to six passengers. It has 4 doors for passengers and it is a 4 door big size sedan. It has a four speed automatic transmission with OD. Some prominent features are its anti lock braking system or the ABS, its good traction control, the dual stage airbags with crash severity for the driver and the front passengers,Quick Specs
the side airbags in the front, the presence of safety door locks for children in the rear, and a good tire pressure monitoring system.
Some strong plus points about this vehicle are its reliable and time tested design, the presence of a very big trunk, and its ability to pass all kinds of safety tests without modern day technology. Some points you may not like are that the mechanism is rather ancient, its styling is hardly modern, it is not meant for curved roads, it occupies quite a bit of parking space, even more than an SUV, and besides all this, the driving position is not an ideal one and the seats are not really supportive.
For all its lack of modernity, Mercury’s biggest sedan is full of American traditional car values, it has rear wheel drive, there is the standard V-8 for an engine, and the interior is spacious and roomy, it can seat 6 people, the trunk is 20.6 cubic feet, and this is big, by any standard. There has been no major redesigning from 1992, the size has remained the same since even longer, and the body on frame platform that it is built upon goes back to about thirty years. The engine is a bit modern, there is the standard 224 hp, 4.6l V-8 and a 4 speed automatic transmission is quite standard. You can also opt for the E85 flexi fuel one, which is available in some areas. This vehicle is capable of adequate acceleration and those looking for high spirits can look elsewhere. The 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis is comfy and quiet, it offers a smooth drive with easy handling. The front seats are bench like, the rear seats are very roomy and comfortable. The highlight of this vehicle is its trunk space which is big enough to hold quite a few suit cases, plus other extras. The LS models have an optional Handling Package and this adds power to the standard engine, it increases dual exhausts and engine output to 239 hp.
