The Ford Mustang Boss 302 and The Laguna Seca

By Zaheer on Apr 28, 2011 with Comments 0

The Ford Mustang Boss 302 is one smooth ride. The Boss 302 combines the best attributes of all of the Mustangs in Ford’s stable. It has all the makings of a muscle car and the best sports car that Ford has to offer. It shed extra pounds, it balanced its turbocharged engine for better balance, got rid of the soft suspension and removed the engine’s bad sound. All-in-all the Boss is a fitting name for this new Mustang because it did everything right.

The chassis has excellent balance that helps you get through tough and broken roads. But it still has its old school rear axle that is rough around the edges. The Boss drags down once the roads get bumpy and uneven. The old school feel is part of its charm. Nothing is perfect but that’s what makes things perfect in the first place, their flaws. But who would drive this beast on bad roads in the first place? It is just not made for those kinds of drives.

The Mustang Boss is easy to adjust while you go full throttle. Handling is smooth and makes for good maneuvering. When you apply maintenance throttles, it makes smooth adjustments that you barely even notice. Its slight handed steering keeps you well balanced and never requires too much attention from the driver.

The already powerful 5.0-liter V-8 engine is what you would expect from the Boss plenty of power and cool revs. There is no shortage of driving performance with the Boss Mustang. The Boss drives well over uneven roads despite its luxurious design. Its engine and suspension keep it firm and balanced on the toughest of roads.

The Boss 302 has an alternative edition which is the Laguna Seca. The Laguna Seca replaces the back seats with a visible cross-brace to stiffen the chassis. It also has stiffer rear springs, a Torsen limited-slip differential, a larger rear anti-roll bar and Pirelli Corsa tires.

The aforementioned features added to the Laguna Seca make it an upgrade of the Boss 302. It is smoother and well balanced Boss that is easier to reign in. But it will cost you an extra $6,995.

Both models have a very distinct feature which is the TracKey. The TracKey is integrated into the Mustang’s computer and out goes all sorts of restraint. With the TracKey the Boss is more aggressive.

The Boss is tagged at $40,995 for all that we have heard so far every penny in the forty grand you’ll be spending is worth it.
