Nissan GT-R – Four Seasons Review

The Nissan GT-R has gained international stardom because of its Godzilla like presence. The car is magnificently well made and powered by an engine like no other. Although not perfect in any sense the Nissan GT-R has a lot to offer.
At first glance, you will be awe struck by the GT-R’s monstrous appeal but once you ride the monster you will feel that every cent you spent will be worth it all of the $85,000 odd dollars you will dole out.
The GT-R has an unbelievable performance. Watching this baby fly by through traffic will make you want to stay indoors and just watch the magic unfold on the street. With a 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and 0 to 100 mph in 8.0 seconds you really might just want to stay out of its way. It also has a top speed of 193 mph. That’s truly something special.
The GT-R has a six-cylinder engine powered by two turbochargers. With that kind of an engine there’s no wondering why it is such a monster. The DOHC, 24-valve 3.8-liter V-6 was assembled and made by hand, it is also unlike most of the mass-market VQ V-6 in Nissan’s stable. The GT-R has a very powerful 485 hp at 6400 rpm and 434 lb-ft of torque at 3200 rpm.
Well, so far it is living up to its Godzilla moniker.
One kink in the GT-R’s Godzilla scales is its engine noise, which sounds like your mother cleaning your house but is primarily swallowed by the noisy tires and transmission. Try as hard as you can but you won’t hear the usual deep growl of the super cars in the GT-R’s market, even if you push the pedal to its limits. For the thrill seekers there isn’t much drama even if you throttle to three digit speeds.
The all-wheel-drive system helps the GT-R thrust itself forward no matter the road condition. Now that’s a powerful engine!
The GT-R only offers an automatic transmission sorry for those hardcore manual guys and gals. But even with the automatic transmission the GT-R delivers albeit not perfectly with a steady performance. Shifting up and down takes a lightning fast 0.2 seconds and does not interrupt power delivery which gives smooth driving.
The ride quality isn’t too good especially in slow speeds. You will feel every nook and cranny of the road which makes for a very uncomfortable ride. Despite the bumpy ride the cabin is strangely comfortable. It offers all the amenities of the cars in its market segment. The interior is well designed and uses the highest quality products.
At the end of the day the GT-R has a whole lot more to offer than just Godzilla like presence.
