Jeep’s Lineup for 2011

By Zaheer on Apr 28, 2011 with Comments 0

We have been waiting for a long time for Jeep to release its latest model, the grand Cherokee. Since we first saw the car debut at a New York auto show we were eager to see the car in action. The long wait since 2009 has been a revelation for Jeep. It has upgraded its vehicles to suit the needs and wants of the market. While the Grand Cherokee touched up before its unveiling, the rest of the 2011 Jeep stable received all sorts of improvements from minor surgeries on the Liberty to spice it up to a massive overhaul in interior, exterior, and suspension design with the Compass.

Jeep wants to stay relevant and the company is making its first steps to do so. Minor and major improvements will come a long way to please customers.

The Grand Cherokee is a new release in every sense of the word. The Grand Cherokee borrows a great deal from the features that are offered by the Mercedes ML. The Grand Cherokee is a mixture of German, American, and Italian aesthetic and science. The Grand Cherokee now has an air suspension and the Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 engine which was absent from previous models.

The interior is elegant and is made with the highest quality materials. You will feel an air of luxury once you step in the cabin. The Overland Summit design used in the interior made the cabin lurious and easy on the eyes. It uses brown leather seating and dashboard coverings. You can choose to install a Garmin branded navigation system in the dashboard. The nav system shows speed limit along with the car’s speed as set by the GPS system. The design is well furnished and nice looking. If you are willing to splurge close to $50,000 this is the car for you.

Jeep offers two engines which are the 3.6-liter V-6 that has a horsepower of 290 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque combined with four wheel drive, or the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 engine that provides 360 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. Both engines give a different feel in handling once you drive the Jeep around. The Jeep’s reengineering helps it drive through highways at smooth speeds and powerful throttles.

All-in-all the Grand Cherokee has a lot to offer. It handles well in any kind of road and is maneuverable despite its hefty size. The engine is powerful and gives you a comfortable ride. The luxurious interior and exterior add more to its appeal.
