Clutch Replacement Tips – Dos and Don’t

If you own a vehicle, then you must have replaced the clutch of your vehicle. It is not at all easy to replace the clutch of a vehicle. Many people find it difficult to replace the clutch of their vehicle. Some people get frustrated at the time of replacing their clutches. If you are replacing the clutch of your vehicle, then you should follow the instructions written in the manual of your vehicle. Lubrication at the right places of the clutch is very much important for getting the right kind of performance from the clutch. On the other hand, you should not lubricate any of the wrong places of clutch. You should place a thin coat of the grease on the main tip of the input shaft of the clutch and at the collar of the clutch. You could also place a very thin coat of oil on the every input shafts of your clutch to prevent the clutch from the rust. At the time of putting the grease on your clutch parts, you should make sure that you are not putting the grease on the clutch disc, fly wheel, or on the pressure plate of the clutch of your vehicle.
Tips No. 2
You should resurface the flywheel, no matter whether it is looking good or not. If you do not resurface the flywheel, you may save few bucks; but, in future, you may have to spend lot more bucks for that.
Tips No. 3
You should replace the pilot brushing or bearing of the clutch. If you do not possess any driving tool to replace the pilot brushing or the bearing of the clutch, then you should go to the manual book to get any other options. If you are also not finding anything, according to the manual book, then you should try any wooden tool to do that. At the time of pulling the pilot brushing or bearing, you could use some lubricants to do that easily.
Tips No. 4
At the time of replacing the clutch of your vehicle, you should not do anything forcefully. If you are finding that the transmission is not sliding smoothly, then you should not do that forcefully. If you ignore this advice, then you may have to end up with broken ears of the mounting or you may damage the pilot bearing of the clutch. If the transmission is not going in to the bellhousing, then you should be sure of one thing that, the alignment is not at all perfect. So, you should try to do that in a different angle. In that case, there is a thing you can try, you could reattach or install the linkage of the clutch. It may help you to find the right alignment, so that you can put the transmission in to the bellhousing.
These tips are just to help you at the time of replacing the clutch of your vehicle, or any other thing. But before replacing the clutch of your vehicle or anything, you should go through the repairing manual of the clutch very carefully. Otherwise, you may face some never before of its kind problem at the time of replacing the clutch, which may damage the new clutch or further damage the previous clutch of your vehicle.
