Among some of the best names like Chrysler, Ford and Chevrolet, there were present some less publicized American automakers at the SEMA Auto Show. Those automakers were present there with the aim of attracting the audience attention to make them publicize.
One such name is Li-Ion Motors which is a North Carolina based company and most of you won’t hear about it before. Li-Ion succeeded in getting attention of the audience for their electric supercar, the Inizio.
The Inizio will be powered with lithium-ion batteries which can produce up to 40kW along with an electric motor that further increases the number to 145kW. The power will enable the car to produce an output of 250 mph and will sprint from 0-60 mph in 3.4 seconds. The car will have a top speed of 170 mph.
Inizio has already got the approval from DOT and if everything works fine for the Li-Ion team, we can expect to see this car somewhere in 2012. The people who are interested in the America’s first electric supercar may be shocked to hear the price set by Li-Ion for their supercar. It will be sold at a price of $139,000, certainly a pop.
