Instructions
Follow these steps to replace door shell easily:
- First of all wear the protective clothing such as safety goggles, latex gloves, etc.
- Make sure that which door has a damaged door shells.
- Take the interior door panel away. You may need to disconnect the armrest, window handle, door lock levers or switches. You may require interior trim tool or pocket screw driver.
- Take away all the other parts such as side mirrors, window glass, motor, regulator, weather stripping, door speakers, door lock mechanism and door handle.
- Ask your partner to hold the door in an open position while you are unfastening the door from the frame mounting hinges.
- Take the door away. Take the new door shell and match it with the old door so that you make sure that you have the perfect replacement.
- Fix the door shell to the hinges and set the alignment of the door shell properly.
- You may need to adjust the tightness of the hinges to allow the door to move properly and in right direction. Keep moving the door shell while adjusting the hinges to set the proper alignment.
- After the alignment of the door shell, fasten the hinges as directed in the manufacturer’s manual.
- Replace all the parts which you have removed earlier in a same way as you removed them.
- Attach the interior door panel and other components to the door shell.
