How to Adjust a Hood Release Latch

The following guide will teach you how to adjust a hood release hatch. Follow the instructions below.
Things You’ll Need:
- Screwdriver
- Socket and Ratchet Set
- 3/8 in. Drive Ratchet
- White Lithium Grease

Instructions
- Park the car, open the hood and search for the hood hatch.
- Unfasten the bolts holding the hood latch.
- In order to align the latch with the opening in the hood inner panel, move it from one side to another.
- Lower the stops by unfastening the locknuts on the hood stops.
- Make sure the latch is perfectly place between the top of the hood and fender. For this you may have to move the hood latch in up and down direction.
- Fasten the bolts holding the hood latch.
- To remove any looseness at the front of the hood, lift the two hood stops.
- Now, fasten the locknuts and check the operation of the adjusted hood latch by opening and closing hood several times.
