The Italian company Pagani has introduced its new edition of Pagani Zonda R in Vienna at the Luxury Motor Show. Pagani is known for its wild models and this Zonda R seemed to be a high tech dream machine. 2009 Pagani Zonda R features a central monocoque made of a carbon-titanium composite supporting a lightweight carbon fiber body with a brand new hood, tunable rear wing, closed underbody and a rear diffuser.
Only 10 units of Zonda R are produced at a price of €1.4 million euro (about $1.85 million at current rates). Zonda R is made to compete with some renowned vehicles such as Ferrari FXX and Maserati MC 12 Corse. Zonda R is purely a track car and you may need not to hang a license plate on this vehicle.
Zonda R is equipped with a V12 AMG engine that is capable of developing 750 HP at 8,000 rpm and 524 lb-ft of torque. It generates an impressive 100 HP more than Zonda F and hardly uses ten percent of the Zonda F components. Zonda R features a suspension forged in Avional (aluminum alloy), a carbon fiber monocoque chassis, and a new Pagani six speed transversal sequential gearbox.
