Recently, the reports have arrived that the Mercedes-Benz is on spotlight as they recall their vehicles. The German automaker recently issued an official recall involving the 2011 models such as E-Class, M-Class, R-Class and GL-Class. The reason for the recall is described by the company as defective fuel filters.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration explains that an important component in these vehicles’ fuel filters called the O-ring may not be installed properly due to which the car’s fuel spilling out onto the road and this can be extremely dangerous for not only the driver of affected vehicle, but for other vehicles also.
According to Mercedes, almost 2,300 of their vehicles have this defect and hence subjected to the recall. The recall is expected to begin later this month. All the affected cars are supposed to go to their dealerships and the problem will be fixed free of cost to the car owners.
