The news of Audi preparing the R4 to slip it right under the R8 in lineup has already been heard. The news that is growing stems and spreading fast is growing sports lineup and the speculations of the next steps for German Company. It sounds as if the Volkswagen Group is going to prepare two new main platforms which may be seen in sports models from Audi, Porsche and Volkswagen.
The first platform that will feature the transversely mounted engines in the front of the chassis is the MOB modular architecture. This platform will be designed to use for the models such as the Porsche 914 or 356 Successor, the Volkswagen Bluesport or Beetle and the Audi R4, R3 or TT Successor.
The second platform, the MSS is a longitudinal mid-engine platform. According to Fourtitude, this platform is surely a new component set that is quite similar to the design parameters of MLB and MQB such as geometries between engine components and steering components. But this platform will provide more flexibility to cars on the more exotic end of the spectrum with longitudinal engine configuration. This platform will be designed to use for the future Porsche 911 and 918, Lamborghini models and the future R8 models.
