How to Replace Car’s Rear View Mirror

Rear view mirror gives great assistance during your driving sessions. It helps you keep a record of traffic behind you. If you have got your rear view mirror broken, there is nothing to worry about. You can replace it very easily. Here are some steps to follow.
Required Items
- Alcohol
- Felt pen
- Paper towels
- Razor blade
- Rear view mirror attachment kit
- Rubbing alcohol
- Screwdriver
Instructions
- Before starting, purchase a rear view mirror attachment kit from any auto supply store.
- Park your car in a shady area to avoid setting of adhesive material strongly on the glass.
- Take a screwdriver and remove the metal button on the rear view mirror.
- Using the razor blade, scratch off the remaining glue from the windshield.
- Take a felt pen and mark the place where the button exactly goes on the outside of the windshield.
- Get rear view mirror attachment kit and cut the top of it with the razor blade.
- Make hold of the vial of adhesive and put just enough amount of it on the button.
- Press the button on the mark that you have made earlier on glass. Be sure that the U-shape or curved part is in upward direction.
- After about one minute leave the button. You will see the button would be held on its place tightly. If not, repeat last two steps.
- Leave it for 30 minutes to one hour, and then attach the rear view mirror to the button. Just slide the attachment holder and push it down on button until you hear a click sound.
- Using paper towels and alcohol clean the mirror and the surrounded of the button.
- Leave the mirror to settle down properly for another hour. You can adjust the mirror view later at any time.
