  • While approaching the parking spot, have a good look on your driver-side mirror and the rear-view mirror to avoid bumping any close by vehicle behind.
  • Always give signal, keep your speed slow and eventually stop. If you have any vehicle behind give a gesture so that they will get to know and move forward.
  • Keep a line with the car parked in front of the spot. Stop your car parallel to that car, wheel to wheel and bumper to bumper, everything should be aligned. Keep a reasonable distance from that car, neither be too close, nor too far. One or two feet distance is enough.
  • Shift the gear into reverse.
  • Make sure that the road on the back is clear before moving backward. Make the right use of the rear mirror.

  • Once the rear of the car is back enough, turn the steering wheel to the left gradually while moving back. Your job at this stage will be half done and you have to come right behind the front car to complete the move.
  • Move back slowly and make sure that you don’t hit the front of the car parked behind you.
  • Once your back enough shift the gear to drive and turn your steering to the right. Move forward into the direction of curb.
