There were a lot of rumors about a coupe version of the legendary Maybach to take on the new Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe. However as it turns out, Daimler is not going to do it.
It is going to be a limited edition coach manufactured by German company Xenatec. Based on the first renderings released by them, it can be said that it looks much better than the limousine version. They say it is based on the Maybach 57S and has the same length but it has a low profile having two doors.
The car’s front is still recognizable as a Maybach. There are only few decorations on the lower skirt. However on the side, the lower roof line plus elongated doors are noticed and that lead to the back where they have done a proper facelift.
The same engine as the 57S powers the car, it means that it has a V12 bi-turbo developing 612 HP and over 1000 nm of torque enabling this almost 3 ton car to accelerate to 60 mph in just a short time of 5 seconds.
The Maybach Coupe has a limited stock of 100 units and each is reportedly priced at 650,000 Euro. Xenatec says most of their customers are form the Middle East, Asia and America.
