Gordon Murray is ever famous for his legendary McLaren F1, even if he is busy in developing electric city cars.
The new development of Gordon Murray Design and Zytek Automotive is the T.27 electric city car which is the most efficient EV of its type according to them.
However reviewing the first specifications of the car that’s been recently released, it’s hard to see why they say that. Because there are already many EVs out there which beat the T.27 in terms of performance, range, and price since they are made by mainstream manufacturers.
The T.27’s source of power is a 25 KW electric motor with 12KWh batteries. It enables to car to accelerate from 0 to 60 km/h in about 15 seconds and reach a top speed of 105 km/h.
With dry weight of nearly 680 kg, it’s just as heavy as a conventional hatchback, so we too wonder what is that efficiency they have in mind. It also has a length of 2.50m, width of 1.30m and height of 1.60m and a wheelbase of 1.78m.
