How to Do a Bootlegger’s Turn

You have often seen in movies that a fast moving car suddenly takes a 180 degree turn and start moving in the opposite direction. This 180 degree turn is known as Bootlegger turn. To do bootlegger turn is not a tough task, a littler effort and careful approach can enable you to do this stunt. You just have to follow the safety tips.

There are certain precautionary measures which you have to keep in mind before doing a bootlegger turn:
Minimum Speed of 50mph: If you want to do a bootlegger turn, make sure that the vehicle is running at 50mph. Anything lower will cause your vehicle to stop in mid way and anything faster will probably uncontrollable.
Low Base Vehicle: Always use a low wheel base vehicle for doing bootlegger turn. High wheel base vehicles may fall over while doing a turn.
Open Space: Always choose an open space for doing this turn. On doing this turn in narrow place might cause you to hit against a wall or something else.
Instructions:
Make sure that you are aware of all the safety measures before indulging yourself in bootlegger turn. Here are some instructions to do a bootlegger turn in a convincing way:
- Take your vehicle to a wide open space, with no traffic. Press the accelerator and attain the speed of 50mph.
- Pull the handbrake which will lock the brakes, then turn your vehicle either on left or right.
- Once the brakes have locked, release the handbrake quickly that will enable the wheels to move in a particular direction.
- As soon as your car takes a turn of 180 degree, move the steering wheel in a straight direction and press the accelerator immediately. Your vehicle will now move in the opposite direction.
Bootlegger stunt is not that difficult unless or until you follow the instructions and important safety tips. With the help of these instructions and tips you can do this turn easily and safely.
