Cleaning car interior is as much important as cleaning the exterior. The grimy interior with glimmering exterior diminishes the beauty of your vehicle. Focusing on one and leaving the other is sign of poor maintenance. Following are given some useful instructions to clean the car interior.
Items
- Window cleaner
- Mini vacuum cleaner
- Paper towels
- Carpet shampoo
- Sponge
- Vinyl protecting dressing
- Cotton towel or dry cloth
- Laundry detergent
Instructions
- Make your vehicle’s interior free from all visible junk like empty bottles, papers, tissues, or any other thing which is creating a mess. Be careful if you have any important documents or papers keep them safely before removing the junk. Throw all the junk in a trash can.
- Remove the mats and hit them with a hard thing twice or thrice to remove the dust and dirt.
- Take a vacuum cleaner and vacuum all the parts of the interior. Starting with floor; vacuum every single corner, pedal areas, under the seats, narrow rifts or cracks carefully.
- For leather seats and dashboard use the special soft brush attachment. Vacuum the leather seats, corner of the seats and door joints and in the end dashboard.
- Use separate attachment used for mats to vacuum the mats. Later place them at their respective place.
- Take a spray cleaner and spray it on the carpets, leather seats and door upholsterers to remove the stains and dirt. Take a paper towel and rub it with some pressure on the sprayed area. Once you are done, take a dry cloth and clean the surface. Do not use damp cloth to clean it.
- If you do not have a spray cleaner you can use laundry detergent diluted with some warm water. Soak the towel into the mixture and squeeze it well and clean the stains and dirt from the door upholstery, seats and carpets. Dry it off instantly.
- With same mixture of water and detergent clean the dashboard carefully. Use soft brush to clean the dashboard. Dry it off with the help of cotton towel. You can use plastic polish to give shine afterward.
- Take a window cleaner and wipe off the dirt with the help of paper towels.
- To remove the musty smell from the interior you can use any of the odor treatment products.
