How to Clean a Carburetor

The carburetor is an important component of the vehicle. The performance of the vehicle is largely depends upon the condition of the carburetor. Carburetor converts the fuel into power which is required to move the vehicle. During routine driving sessions, the dirt and debris gradually takes hold of the carburetor, which results in the reduced performance of the vehicle.
To keep your vehicle in working condition it is necessary to clean the carburetor.
How to Remove Carburetor
For better cleaning of the carburetor, it is essential to take the carburetor out of its compartment. However, you can clean the carburetor by removing its top, but this will not give you the access to the inner parts of the carburetor. So, it is better to remove the carburetor.
- Remove all the connections that connecting the carburetor to the engine.
- After removing all the connection, remove the bolts of the slot holding the carburetor with the help of ratchet.
- Carefully lift the carburetor out as it has so many small sensible parts which can break.
You have removed the carburetor, now you are ready to start the cleaning process. To avoid any mess choose a right place for cleaning.
Start Cleaning
Before starting the cleaning process arrange the required items: carburetor cleaner, ratchet, rag, an air compressor. Once you have all these required items at one place start the process.
- Take the carburetor casing out by removing the bolts using ratchet.
- Once the casing removed, take a cleaner and spray it over all the parts of the carburetor so that not a single part left unsprayed.
- Turn on the air compressor and use it on holes and inner parts to remove the grime and dirt.
- Take a rag damp it with water and clean all the parts of the carburetor.
- Put all the grime and dirt in the trash can carefully.
- Once you have done with cleaning replace the carburetor casing and install it into the carburetor slot properly.
Once you are done with the entire cleaning task, have a small trip. You will feel a clear change in the performance of your vehicle. It is not only the performance which enhanced; you will see the improved fuel efficiency and acceleration. Once you have done the cleaning job, feel relaxed and satisfied because carburetor does not need frequent cleaning.
