How to Change a Car Tire

Tire is the only part of your car which is in contact with the road. Tires are of great importance for any automobile. Due to continuous contact with different sorts of surfaces and conditions, they begin to deteriorate. Tires need special care and maintenance like every other part of an automobile require. At times your tires become worn out or sometimes tread become so useless with time, which can be dangerous for your safety. You can easily change a worn out or flat tire on your own, here are given some of the instructions which will help you to replace the tire more conveniently.
Conditions for Changing a Tire
There are a number of factors which reduce the performance of the tires. It is important to examine the tires condition regularly to avoid major accidents. Some of the major conditions are given below:
- Treads: Treads have a very important role in tire maintenance. Treads provide a solid grip to the car in different weather conditions. The worn out tread reduces the grip and there are chances that the car may slips or flips over round the corners. So, once you know that tread is worn out replace the tire.
- Punctures: Punctures also reduces the life of your tire. The higher the number of punctures, the worst will be the tire condition. Punctures tear down not only the structural reliability, but they affect the tire pressure also.
- Better Performance: For better performance and control is it is necessary to replace the tires. Tires not only give better grip, but they also improve the control on the vehicle, i.e. on steering and braking system. Whenever you feel that tires are not giving you the required performance replace them.

- Spare tire
- Jack
- Tools
- Warning devices
- Logs or wedges
Safety Tips
- Always park your car away from traffic. If you are on highway or freeway, try to take your car on side of the road and make use of warning devices.
- Keep all the tools in proper working condition.
- To avoid any damage to you, always park the car on flat surface, make use of parking brakes and logs.
Instructions
- Take a jack and place it at the right place under the car and lift the car up. Before lifting make sure that the hand brakes and logs are well placed.
- Take a screwdriver and take out the hubcap from the wheel by removing the bolts.
- Unbolt the lug nuts with the help of wrench. Wheels are attached to the axle with the help of these lug nuts.
- Once the lug nuts are removed, hold the wheel with both the hands and remove the wheel from axle.
- Take a spare tire and fix it into the axle with nut holes and sockets at right place.
- Fasten the lug nuts with the help of wrench.
- Lowers the jack and once again tighten the lug nuts properly. Fix the hubcap back.
- Take the jack out from under the car and put them back into the trunk along with other tools. Later you can check the pressure of the replaced tire and inflate it accordingly.
