You have to follow some simple steps which are given below.

Generally Go-Carts have square or oval frame. You can build any type of frame depending up on your requirement. Before making a frame just keep the basic information in your mind, i.e. the size of the rider. It is very important to keep the rider in mind while building a Go-Cart frame. Do not make too large or too small frame. Comfort and safety would be the two things you should keep in mind. To take important measurement regarding the size of the rider on the cardboard would be a plus point.

Assigning a proper place to each components of go-cart on the frame is another important part of your planning. You should be clear about the position and placement of the components like engine, battery, seats, roll bars, steering kit and braking kit. A frame must be strong and stable.

Items Required

Metal tubing is considered to be the best type of material to use in Go-Cart assembly. Make sure that the tubing you are going to use is strong but light in weight. Heavy tubing may not be the best option in building Go-Cart frame.

  • Saw
  • Electric motor or gas engine (if available)
  • Battery (car battery)
  • 4 wheels
  • Braking and steering kits
  • Seat
  • Wooden dowels (fastening pins)
  • Rims (for wheels)
  • Steel board
  • Nuts and bolts

Steps

  • As per plan, take a saw and cut the metal tubing and wooden dowels as required. Drill the holes to connect the different parts of the frame. Once you have finished with cutting and drilling, now is the time to connect the tubing. You can either weld or use nuts and bolts to connect the tubing as per your requirement.
  • Now you have finished with your main part. Now you need to work on the part of frame holding engine, steering and braking kits, seat, wheels rims and roll bars. Remember a good and stable Go-Cart is always that which is close to the ground. This provides better gravity to the cart and reduces the chances of tossing over.
  • You can use Go-Cart trusted construction plans for better security of your cart frame. Those plans can easily be available on internet.

Tips

  • In building a Go-Cart the first thing you should start with is its frame. Your whole cart performance is based on your cart’s frame.
